something out of the norm

Here I have to do something out of the norm, filling a small gap while boarding. By boarding I mean the part of drywall that is putting the board up before taping. I don't want to just put tape over this gap, a crack down the road for sure. I cut out a sm piece to fit in but this is so thin that I can't put a screw into it, so I use construction adhesive. This works great and will hold for a long time. The 2x4 framing acts as the solid backing and then tape and prime.
