plug the hole for the toilet

If you have a reno that you have to take out the toilet and redo the floor then make sure you plug the hole for the toilet. A couple reasons for this, one is to stop the nasty gas and fumes that can come up from the sewer. The second reason is to stop any garbage from going into the hole and causing problems and clogs at a later time.

Here I used a old coffee cup, I put water in the cup and this will stop any fumes from coming up. I could also use a old rag and plug the hole.
