Shows and TV spots

The CNE is over for this year and I had a blast. I always enjoy doing shows, especially when you can go to a food court everyday and try all kinds of different foods. I met lots of people and really had a good time. Wish I could do that all year long.

Have 2 shows coming up on Oct. 08/06 at the International Home & Garden show. I will be doing shows like the ones at the CNE for those of you that asked me too.

11:30am-Drywall & repairs

2pm- The Handy Person Show

I'm only there on the Sunday so come by and check out a show or two.

Welcome

Hi Everyone, Hope everybody had a great summer. Just got back from a vacation in BC so getting ready for a busy Fall. I will bring my camera to the next few jobs that I do so hope to get some new tricks and info into my blog. Two shows coming up in Oct. so if you missed the shows at the CNE then this is your chance to get some neat tricks on drywall and other projects.
Introduction

Welcome to the September newsletter.
Feature Article

When adding an underlayment on a subfloor you want to first make sure it is glued and screwed down solid. Some pro's will use a staple gun to make this step faster. On this job I am going to add sheet flooring so I want to make sure all screw holes and cracks are filled with a wood filler. Put down glue and wait for it to become tacky. On the second pic here you can see some tape at the inside corner, I put this here to help stop any ripping that can happen at this weak spot.

You want to remove any and all air that is trapped under the vinyl. I use a 80lb roller on this floor and work from the centre to the edge to push all air out.

Looking for a good carpenter or two

I usually work alone but finding I have way too many jobs on the go so if anybody knows a good carpenter or handyman or women then please pass this info on to me. Not sure if I want to go bigger or not but if the right person comes along then maybe..

Tip of the month

When you have to drill a pilot hole in wood before you nail a finishing nail in and you don't have a sm drill bit, cut off the head of one finishing nail. You can now put the nail in the drill and drill a hole in the wood with this. This will be your pilot hole and now when you nail in another finishing nail it will hold because the head of the nail is bigger then the hole.

John Daly Golf Bag

Congratulations to Dave from Brampton! Dave won the golf bag on the draw from the CNE. Dave I will get you the golf bag next time I'm in your area.
