Ya' Gotta Be Handy, Man!

Hello everyone and welcome to June's Newsletter.

If you have not checked out the blog lately then I will give you a update. Right now I just started with the first coat of mud, I used fibre tape on this job so I will tape first then mud. If you are new here then check out the blog starting on May 1st. this is when I started the bathroom reno. I have tons of pictures of this reno and just want to pass on the tips and tricks that go with it.

It's a very busy time of the year for me, always something on the go. Working on ideas for the CNE this summer. (look for the 'on stage' section for me if you want) Have 54 shows of my own and some ideas are in the works for some other shows. Also have two shows booked for a excellent trade show coming up in Oct/06. I hope to have some really neat tricks and tips packed into two one hour shows for this. More information on these shows later.

Here is a job I did some time ago, I want to point out a patch that I found in the wall when I took the drywall off one side. Someone years ago had to patch a hole in the wall, If you look close you can see that they screwed some plywood strips to the studs. They might of done this so they didn't have to cut the drywall half way into the steel stud. They also put one in the middle for added support.

This is what it would look like on the inside of the wall. You can not tell that there is a patch on the other side, so a job well done.

If you want to be handy then it is good to see everything, always try to understand why something was done and soon you will understand the basics of renovations.
